about

Cocoon Life was a band from the Waterford, MI scene active from the end of 2002 through 2004, featuring members Joe Mckenzie, Andrew Urbats, Rob Strickland, and Nick Thornton and Kyle McBee, (both later of Future Slang).

Other than some aborted pre-Joe recordings in 2003, the band never recorded anything that captured the essence of their sound- Raw, angular, post-punk, Hardcore, and 90s college rock influenced with heavy drums, melodic bass, and criss crossing guitar fury. They reunited briefly in 2009 to record this EP of their favorite tracks from the old days...

Born of, and influenced by the insanity of the Bush years, war paranoia, depression, angst, aggression, and other dystopian fears color the record, and sadly enough, still resonate a decade later...
